|
We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact us after a boy riding a bicycle was struck by a car in Boston. The boy, of primary school age, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the collision yesterday (Saturday 6 June). Thankfully, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening nor life-altering. The incident was reported to us at 7.23pm and happened at a four-way junction in Haven village. The car, a silver Volkswagen Golf, had been heading along Sutton Terrace towards Melbourne Terrace but the driver did not stop following the collision. The boy had been riding his bicycle along Longview Terrace. The driver, a 27-year-old man from Boston, was stopped by our colleagues in Norfolk around 8.30pm on Saturday. He was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving causing serious injury, and drug driving. He has also subsequently been arrested on suspicion of driving without a full driving licence and driving while uninsured. The man remains in police custody. If you saw the collision, have dashcam footage of the incident, or any information that could help our investigation, please contact us: Email our Serious Collision Investigations Unit at SCIUInvestigators@lincs.police.uk quoting Incident 441 of 6 June. | ||
